Thank you for your patience as we waited for approval to move forward with the 2025-2026 Financial Education Grants program. We have simplified the application to make it easier to understand and fill out.
Please read the 2025-2026 Grants Manual prior to filling out your application. The Grants Manual provides many details you need to know prior to applying (eligible and ineligible expenses, deadlines, required documentation and more).
The 2025-2026 grants application is available online in both a fillable 2025-2026 DFI Financial Education Grant Application and Survey Monkey format - please choose one. Please do not submit in both formats. To save and return to the Survey Monkey - you must have completed the section you are in and use the Exit button in the upper right corner of the page and return to the link using the same computer/IP address.
The deadline to submit the application is Feb. 28, 2025 5 p.m. PST
Grant Application Process
1. Fill out the Grant Application
- The updated application will be available online starting Jan. 2, 2025.
- Complete the application by the Feb. 28, 2025, 5 p.m. PST deadline.
2. Submit Your Application
- Email the application to FEGrants@dfi.wa.gov by the deadline.
3. Evaluation Process (March 2025)
The Grant Review Committee will evaluate proposals that meet the following criteria:
- Follow application guidelines in the Grant Manual.
- Submit within the formal application process.
- DFI will likely have a reduced budget for this period in light of the statewide budget freeze and spending reductions.
- Applications are not guaranteed funding.
Key Dates for 2025-2026 Financial Education Grants
- Jan. 2, 2025: Grant application available online.
- Feb. 28, 2025: Final application submission deadline.
- March 2025: Proposal evaluation.
- Only complete proposals received by the deadline will be considered.
- April 2025: Applicant notification of status.
- Applicants will be notified of their application status via email.
- May - June 2025: Finalize grant agreements.
- Grant agreements will be delivered to awardees and must be signed and returned.
- July 2025: Program commencement.
- Work may begin only after both parties have signed the grant agreement, which cannot happen before July 1, 2025.
- June 2026: Grant completion.
- Awardees must complete all work and submit final reports and invoices by June 30, 2026.
Important Notes
- Grant Agreements: Work cannot begin before both parties have signed the agreement and it is filed by DFI.
- Funding Limitations: DFI cannot fund all applications; submission does not guarantee funding.
